5. Band-Limited Synthesis

A band-limited waveform is one whose harmonics are kept below a particular frequency. If a waveform is band-limited to the Nyquist frequency and then sampled, no aliasing will occur.

Below are two sampled band-limited square waves. Even though many of the ripples seem to be unrepresented in the sample points, none of the signal is lost since there are no harmonics above the Nyquist limit.
